2023 Virtual Vision Research Symposium
CEBF held its third annual Virtual Vision Research Symposium on February 28th, 2023. We featured ten ophthalmology professionals from Northeast Ohio’s finest institutions to present their current research on blinding diseases. They presented on children’s vision issues, age-related macular degeneration, and glaucoma. Each section featured two informative presentations, followed by a moderator-lead panel discussion. 

People from all over the world tuned in to hear about the cutting-edge research happening here in Cleveland – we are already looking forward to next year’s symposium!

Supporter Reception Event
In fall 2022, CEBF hosted its community of supporters for an evening of hors d’oeuvres, Foundation updates, and an honoring of a former CEBF leader, Sue Janssen.

It was a wonderful night celebrating the accomplishments of local vision research, together.

CEBF Day of Giving: “Over the Edge”
CEBF once again held its Day of Giving in partnership with Lifebanc’s Over the Edge event, with a goal to raise $5000 in one day.

Thank you again to CEBF advocate Bob Morrison and Kent Lions Club member Jeff Coffee for rappelling 23 stories to raise awareness for vision research!

2nd Annual Golf Tournament
June 20, 2022 brought the vision community together in the name of raising funds for local research with a game of golf.

Over the Edge
Lifebanc’s signature Over the Edge event was held September 3, 2021. CEBF Board Member Colleen Flynn Goss for the second time rappelled a Cleveland skyscraper in the name of eye, organ, and tissue donation to raise funds for Northeast Ohio ophthalmology research.

BreadLove Partnership
In August and September 2021, CEBF partnered with BreadLove Cleveland, an organization providing unparalleled homemade bread to raise dough that helps make the world a better place.

Proceeds from BreadLove go directly to CEBF this quarter. BreadLove, thank you for your support!

CEBF Inaugural Golf Tournament, “Keep Your Eye On the Ball”
On June 21, 2021, Cleveland Eye Bank Foundation raised funds for local vision research with a day of golf. This event included a continental breakfast, box lunch, beverages, prizes, side games, and a chance to win a three-year lease of a 2021 Hyundai Sonata with a hole-in-one.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s event!

Virtual Vision Research Symposium
October 2020 brought CEBF’s first signature Vision Research Symposium.

This free event brought together top physicians and researchers at Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute, University Hospitals Eye Institute, & Akron Children’s Hospital. Researchers presented their latest ophthalmic work, funded by CEBF and now published in Ophthalmology Times.

In February of 2020, CEBF presented checks for the first of three installments of the $300,000 grants being gifted over three years. These grants will allow CCF and UH to carry out research to advance eye disease treatments and cures right here in Cleveland.
